GMAT fee waiver
Even though GMAT fee waivers are provided by GMAC (the GMAT’s developer), applicants need not contact GMAC directly.
There are three ways to get the GMAT fee waived. Let’s look at what each choice is.
Option #1: You can apply through business programs.
Apply for a fee waiver for the GMAT through an MBA program you want to apply to. Each year, business schools can only get 10 GMAT fee waivers. So, if you want a chance at getting a GMAT fee waiver, you should apply as soon as possible. These fee waivers are quickly given out by business programs.
Option #2: Apply through the school where you went to college.
Some schools let former students and current students take the GMAT for free. So, if you’re still in school and on track to graduate in less than two years or have already graduated, you should talk to your financial aid office about GMAT fee waivers.
Option 3: Apply as a veteran or someone who is still in the military.
The military helps veterans and people still in the military who want to get a higher degree. If you’re in the military or have been in the military, you can get your GMAT registration fee reimbursed either directly through DANTES or through the GI Bill, in addition to the options listed above.
But keep in mind that the fee isn’t really waived. Instead, you get the fee back. The military will only pay for the fee to sign up for the test. You won’t get money back for things like travel costs, rescheduling fees, etc.
How to pay for your GMAT appointment?
You can pay for your GMAT exam appointment using a credit or debit card. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- GMAT accepts: VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover Network Cards.
- Charges on your credit card statement will most likely appear as “VUE*GRAD MGMT TEST” for exams delivered at a test center, or “DRI*EXAMITY LLC” for exams delivered online.
- If your credit or debit card is declined, your appointment will be automatically canceled. You are responsible for scheduling another test appointment with a valid payment.
- If you use a stolen or fraudulent credit or debit card, your registration will be canceled, any of your previous GMAT scores may be canceled, and Graduate Management Admission Council may notify both schools and law enforcement authorities.
- If you wrongfully challenge or dispute the fee with your credit card company, you may be blocked from taking further exams or from requesting additional score reports.
